I’m Bryson Webber, the founder and backbone of this website. This website is created for you, providing you with more knowledge about healthcare and the ability to work with a caring, knowledgeable team that will work with you. The motivation for this project is really important to me based on my past experiences and values coming from a family that valued education and learning as part of our everyday lives. I remember that my parents found education very important from an early age, and no matter the subject matter, if we had exposure to different fields of study then when we become adults, we will be better prepared to face whatever life brings us. They strongly believed in this and encouraged learning for all of us. I had great exposure to many different subject matters and did not understand at that time the impact this had on my daily curiosity and passion to learn. Although I received respectable education even at this point in my life, and its significance would be even more evident in my early college experience, I would not enjoy this moment of clarity until I took part in discussions with older teammates and even adults and noticed that they were lacking the health information I had known for some years. My reactions came from an awareness that access to information isn’t equal, and that a range of people some are older and from multiple backgrounds and experiences might deserve fair and approachable usable resources and strategies. This awareness awakened the desire to create an experience where anyone could visit to learn, ask and gain confidence with their experience in an often complex healthcare resource environment. One thing that has remained constant throughout my academic and professional life, is a desire to share what I know with others. Whether it was assisting teammates in getting the bigger idea in a new lesson or chatting with friends about any real life possibilities, health-related topics in this instance, I came to learn that there was an element of peace present in teaching. There is a satisfaction to seeing someone act upon your new knowledge you shared. However, there is value to the act of teaching itself. I would sometimes even see a new perspective on a topic I thought I understood completely when teaching someone else, creating a very powerful exchange of ideas. This reinforced to me that learning is a collaborative effort and that everyone brings something of value. Establishing this website is a natural progression of these experiences. I aim not only to provide a easily understandable educational resource, but also to build a supportive environment where users can tap into our team for support. There is a team of employees who work with me who have the same desire to help others and bring their own knowledge and kindness. We work to make every visitor feel heard, respected, and empowered with their healthcare experience. At its heart, this site is about more than just information. It is about connection. I believe when people come together in sharing knowledge and supporting each other, we are all empowered. I envision this website being a place of trusted information, and a community for those who are trying to understand healthcare. I am looking forward to learning, teaching, and growing with all who accompany us on this journey.
